With an investment from IBB Ventures, Kalz GmbH is building one of Europe’s largest CO₂ mineralisation plants to produce building materials in Berlin: this technology enables lower-emission, cement-like materials. The plant is scheduled to go into operation later this year.
The Berlin-based AI company beatsquares has closed a funding round of $2 million (around €1.8 million). The round is led by IBB Ventures and the Berlin-based fund XTR Capital; also participating are ddvg – the largest shareholder of the Madsack media group –, V-Ventures, the media impact arm of the Dutch foundation Veronica, as well as additional business angels. The funding follows a pre-seed round of $500,000 in October 2024.
