AI Communications Platform beatsquares Secures $2 Million in Seed Funding

[introduction]

Berlin, July 20, 2026 -  The Berlin-based AI company beatsquares has closed a funding round of $2 million (around €1.8 million) . The round is led by IBB Ventures and the Berlin-based fund XTR Capital; also participating are ddvg – the largest shareholder of the Madsack media group –, V-Ventures, the media impact arm of the Dutch foundation Veronica, as well as additional business angels. The funding follows a pre-seed round of $500,000 in October 2024.

beatsquares creates a new connection between content producers such as publishers or communications departments and their audiences: AI agents deliver content in exactly the format that target audiences want to receive it – from fully managed social media channels to proprietary products such as newsletters, podcasts, or on-site offerings.

Among the first customers are Süddeutsche Zeitung, Tagesspiegel, and Messe Berlin. With the fresh capital, the company aims to accelerate its growth: the funds will go toward expanding the team, further developing the product, and international expansion.

René Bosch, Founder and CEO of beatsquares:

“Media houses and communications agencies produce first-class content, yet this valuable work reaches only a fraction of its potential audience. We make sure that our customers' editorial work reaches audiences where they actually are today: in the channel and format of their choice. The fact that organizations like Süddeutsche Zeitung and Tagesspiegel are taking this path with us shows that the demand is there. Now it's about speed.”

Rayk Reitenbach, Investment Director at IBB Ventures:

“The communications industry faces the question of how to bring its content to audiences in a fragmented attention economy. beatsquares answers it with a product already in use at leading German publishers, and with a team that understands the industry from its own editorial experience. It was precisely this combination of market access and technology that convinced us.”

Markus Klimmer, beatsquares investor, serial founder, and former McKinsey Public Sector Lead:

“I have accompanied many transformation processes, and the media industry is among the most demanding. beatsquares has understood that it's not about more content, but about smarter distribution. That's a lever that works far beyond journalism.”
