With Clé, Ascléa GmbH is developing a platform that enables hospitals to use modern language models and agentic AI under their own sovereign control — either in their own data center or via European sovereign cloud providers. Building on this, existing clinical IT systems will be integrated into Clé to make relevant data usable for AI applications.
"Over the past years, x-cardiac allowed us to build up special expertise that we now want to apply on a larger scale. With Clé we have reached an important first milestone, and further ones will follow soon. With the funds from the completed financing round, Ascléa is now in a position to realize this vision," says CEO Oliver Höppner.
"The healthcare market is facing major challenges. AI can provide essential support here in maintaining the performance of our clinical landscape, taking over tasks that tie up staff resources without directly serving patient care. Clé opens up a wide range of possibilities for using AI in everyday clinical practice," explains Chief Medical Officer Prof. Dr. med. Alexander Meyer.
Over the past years, x-cardiac has established itself as a pioneer in AI-based medical devices for predicting postoperative complications following cardiac surgery procedures. With the expansion of the product portfolio, this AI expertise and experience will be made even more broadly accessible going forward.
